Nigel,
I understand why DKRC stepped out of NKRA.

I also understand your point about Blues not racing there. I was trying to point out that the reason that Blues don't race there is because they are involved in a series which already takes up two meetings a month for the early months and many drivers don't have the budget for a third meeting in the month, which leads us to only being able as a class to put up a grid from September to november.

I agree with the change of personnel and the personality clashes. The political situation is much better, but unfortunately still provides an obstacle in some areas. It's a reason why some, but not all, drivers don't go there.

I think the NKRA / Blues angle is a bit of a red herring. It is a championship that embraces 2 kinds of cadets, Minimax and Rotax as well as Blues.

It would possibly embrace other classes if enough drivers would vote for it, for example, I believe there are some drivers who have wanted to race 177 who also drive at DKRC

The way the championship is structured, it would seem that there was every opportunity to put Rotax rounds of the NKRA at Dunks, especially if there were a significant number of NKRA Rotax or 177 drivers registered with Dunks as their club.

( I suppose at this point I should say that these are my opinions, not NKRA rulings, and there may be objections both from the club and the NKRA)

The problem being that if DKRC isn't an affiliated club, then it won't have drivers registered to it, which would put any participation another year away.

Please understand that I am not trying to do down DKRC, but to explain why I think that the Blue grid has fallen off there. As I have said, I would be happy to race there from time to time, but it is just too far (and too expensive for my budget) for me on a regular basis. ( I used to make the trip monthly but 9 hours at the wheel is a lot less appealing nowadays, I must be getting older)

As for the slightly tongue in cheek comment about putting Blues on the back of the 177, if one couldn't raise a grid of 8 for an independent grid, then the option is to put the grid out on the back of another grid. Elsewhere I have been out on the back of TKMs (another grid not represented at Dunks) and 177s. I have always been told that the MSA don't allow rotax and blue, but I'm willing to be corrected.

If you could find a small grid of TKM (Kevin /Phil?)and a small grid of Blue then you could perhaps get races, an acorn to grow oaks from. (I've raced in grids of 3 stuck on the back of other classes and enjoyed it. I know other Blues who want to race at DKRC, I 'm trying to help both club and class without affecting the racing at other clubs)
