i did a bit of log table work in the BTEC Mech Engineering course (1st year of it, we didn't cover the further maths unit on the course and did further mech principles in it's place instead during 2nd year).

The most difficult maths i remember doing at BTEC was diff/intregal calculus but didn't do matrices, complex numbers etc till i started uni.

Suppose it differs depending on which course/exam board you have to deal with.
