".... the most effective method of BALANCING the two-end-grips is by moving some weight forward or backward. (* see note at the end*) "

Since one is most concerned with oversteer or understeer in a corner, one also needs to remember that the most effective way of shifting weight in the kart is by braking.

As you brake the effective load shifts forward (which is why cars and motorbikes dip the nose under braking).

So it follows that a driver may encounter understeer / oversteer because the braking pattern is wrong.

This can alter the balance by as much as 45%. In other words, brake too early and you can experience oversteer as the backs have twice as much traction as the fronts (and both rear wheels may be on the ground) and go into the corner still braking and the rears may have very little traction at all and you experience understeer. Get the braking right and you are stable all the way round the corner.

Adjusting the weight distribution to counter bad braking technique just masks the problem.

As said originally, it isn't going to be a case of one solution cures all.
