I know that this may be a bit of a delay before you get started i.e. Bum on seat. I suggest, along with everyone else, that you should go and visit circuits "close" to you, on race weekends. Talk to drivers / mechanics about pros and cons. Remember to keep an open mind, as everyone will have their preference for which kart class to go for, and even which make of kart. Practice days are best, as people are less stressed than on race days. Offer to help, no matter how small, aid is always appreciated. Especially, if you back it up with the occasional "bacon buttie". Certainly visit PFi and even Fulbeck, which is next door. The next meeting at Fulbeck is on the fourth weekend in January, which may be too late, but you should see some TKMs there, as the first Super 1 TKM round is to be held there in March. I am 'slightly' biased towards Fulbeck as I'm the ARKS examiner and also on the committee. You could also try Wombwell, who have a race meeting on the second weekend of the month, and they do normally have a grid of TKMs. It does depend on how far afield that you are prepared to travel. Rotax are raced at practically every circuit, with TKMs not so much. However, I do have an affinity towards TKM. Now here's a contentious statement - "If you can drive a TKM well, then Rotax will be an easy transition". I await the derogeratory comments.
