11.2 volt is probably the critical low level when it's on the kart.

That's about the minimum to provide sparks at 14,000 RPM.

Voltage doesn't mean too much as sometimes you'll find a battery that measures 13.8 volts and it won't even turn over the engine.

A batttery need to be able to deliver current, if it can't then it's toast.

Mounting the battery on the rear or side chassis rails is a sure way to being caught with your pants down.

The vibration damages the internals and you will find that the battery will look as though it has charged but it will not deliver any current.

Usually, so long as the battery turns the light on the charger, green, and will turn over the engine quickly and not slow down, it should be good.
