So, can a club decide to specify a cheap tyre for its championship series?

I'm not sure, but didn't Alan Kilbey of HKC do just that about 15 years ago ? My memory is going but I do seem to recall that 100 Nat/ 100C was being run on different tyres due to Mr Deavin being the importer.

I think the rest of the country was being run on Maxxis/Chen Shing and we were being run on Vega's.

Not because they were cheaper, but because it was the tyre importers track.

As I have said previously, the two biggest senior classes are commercial classes and it just depends on the amount of profit you the customer, are prepared to accept before you start jumping up and down.
