It isn't necessarily the H&S law that is the problem, it is the profiteering that comes from it. If I were to be injured at work and the company were found to have acted negligantly, I wouldn't expect anymore than to be recompensed for the money I could have earned. As it stands, personal injury claims start at £1000's and work their way upwards.

We place far too much emphasis on procedure and regulation and not enough on people. H&S law has gone beyond the practical and turned into a box ticking excercise, doing nothing more to protect those it intends to. You can't legislate against stupidity afterall.
