Like Sinky, that sounds wrong to me, too!

"start with more teeth than you know is required and add one each session until your lap times do not improve "

So.... on a track where I 'know' I need 70 teeth, I should start with MORE than that. I therefore choose 73 teeth! I will then be considerably UNDERGEARED for that track. I go out, set a less than optimum time, return to the pits and add ANOTHER tooth (now 74 teeth) and go out again. As I was already UNDERGEARED it's unlikely that making it MORE undergeared will make me FASTER but you recommend that I go back to my 73 teeth gear. That would seem to place me 3 teeth over geared.........

Didn't you mean, 'start with LESS teeth than you know is optimal and add one until your laps don't improve'?

I am NOT challenging your knowledge; if I am wrong, I simply don't understand your answer! Some people are getting SO sensitive here I have to be a bit careful!

Ian
