TBH you shouldnt get more power at stoich That only means that you have no additional fuel left in the combustion chamber to cool the combustion process. When you tune back to a lean condition the conbustion process leaves hot spots on the combustion chamber and on the spark plug. these areas are kept cool by running the correct AFR. When cold fuel comes into contact with these hot spots you are running the risk of Pre ignition.

You should be aiming in the high 12:1 range.
Remeber that the stioch of fuel with change greatly depending on the blend. Ie tesco 99 which has a percentage of MBTE to pack it out will not have a stoich of 14.7:1 more like 13.8:1.
