What is the ideal AFR for a 2 stroke. Typically for a 4 stroke AFR is stoichiometric until wide open throttle then becomes slightly rich for maximum power at WOT. Is this the same for 2 strokes? Why do kart engines vary in carb settings and why do the engines run better lean? I guess its to do with scavenging efficiency of different barrels? What is the effect of the oil during combustion, does it just not burn fully?

And what carbs floats are best for twisty circuits?

Thanks!
