Sorry guys, there have been so many threads on rib vestS in the past I wasn't going to bother reading this one so i almost missed the "invitation" to comment on our K1 ProVest product.

I can confirm that the "Jumbolon" mentioned in our product description is not the same thing advertised by the Jamaican insulation company.
It is a kevlar-like insert. Don't know why it is called Jumbolon, I'm asking the supplier as we speak.
It has a thin layer of padding on the body side for comfort, and a layer of high density padding on the outside which absorbs most of the initial impact. All packed in vertically isolated cells as can be seen in the pictures.

As for the my best advice for a rib-vest, even with the risk of losing a sale or two it has to be: PROPER FITTING SEAT!
I raced with the vest whilst sporting cracked/bruised/painful ribs and survived. Once healed I changed the seat and have never worn the vest.

Remember: the vest is not designed to prevent injury but more as a "pain killer" whilst the driver is healing the already injured ribs. And should always be used in conjunction with a slightly larger seat to accommodate for the extra padding in the vest.
Your ribs are for life, not just for Christmas!

Dan
