DanTheK1RaceGearMan by your logic and using your own wording, the MSA have also signalled the fact that they don't have a problem with deliberate contact driving by the fact that they have dictated the compulsory sporting of guess what: "homologated crash tested bodywork and rear bumpers".

Most people would hope that the above is not the case! Just because the CIK/MSA stipulate a poorly devised protector, that does not mean they condone breaking of existing regulations, only that they lack the teeth and the will to enforce the existing rules.

Tragic that even though there is a rule designed to provide the majority with a level playing field, improved safety, reduced equipment damage and reduced costs, yet the majority are happy to discard these benefits.

I have seen the most severe corner cutting by works drivers, the minority, making up places almost completely off the track with sparks flying and bending stubs and kingpins in the process. They receive no penalty from the officials and the damage doesn’t matter because it’s a free chassis that will be replaced for the next round. Can the privateer, the majority, afford to do this to compete?

What happens when all gravel traps are eventually asphalted on safety grounds and there is no kerb, just a white line separating the track from the run off area? Most people think cutting the line is acceptable, so in the future there are going to be some very wide race tracks, right up to barriers.

If the CoCs, officials and marshals are too lazy or incapable of noting down the number plate of a driver deliberately cutting out parts of the track, then it is logical to conclude they will show the same apathy to ramming and contact driving. A sad day for karting.
