I wouldn't personally go for a brand new TKM engine, mainly because the 1st thing an engine builder would do to it is bore it out and make it into a Mid-life engine as it would be faster like that! A good quality second hand motor would be fine.
With Rotax, you're pretty much guarenteed to have a big grid at every track. Whereas in TKM the large grids are only at certain tracks, which isn't a major problem but it might mean you have to go to a track a little further away from your local one to race in a 'pack'.
As for chassis, JKH or a Tonykart seem to be the most competitive. However, costwise the spares on the Tonykart are horrendous!!! So probably the JKH would be the one for you.
