The more complicated you make things the worse things get.
We have come to the conclusion that these past few months the reason little Jonny didn't win was because of an 'illegal' engine, a few months ago it was because of tyre cleaning, next month it will be .......
Leave it open as it is, but get the engines marked after practice so any change is noted by the marhsals for Scruit purposes at all meets.
This would stop any suspicions of different engines being used to get grid position and then putting a standard engine back on for the final, hence the qualifying engines not been scruited.
If a kid can't race there is only so much extra grunt will achieve.
