I think it will be sub-tropical. The snow and North wind will turn and we shall have a pleasant run out in the autumn sunshine - and what a fitting way to close the year - yeah right!!

I think the only way I can get 2nd is if young lard Welsh does not turn up. And as he has not raced this month he will need his fix!

Couple of things we need to go back to Ian on, however is the outstanding rule changes for next season: Race format and Pro/Clubman/Heavy grids.

From the discussions I have had with drivers in the paddock the majority consensus is to stick with the current 4 heats and a final principally as some of our older, mature drivers, coupled with the technical nature of the circuit consider 20 laps a bit too far to handle without a fag break! One thing that does need to be clarified is the race lengths. The general feeling is that the races are too short with only one final all year running to the published 15 laps (that is the one that I lost to Grant despite having an awesome lead due to a blocked carb which if it finished as usual I would have still won - not that I am at all bitter but wins are so rare these days and I need every excuse I can!!!!!) Seriously the web site quotes 4X12 lap heats and 15 lap final (63 laps in total) which I feel is about right and compares favorably to PF who have 85 laps in total in a Prokart only event and costs £5 more (for members anyway). I think we all accept that in the event of inclement weather the races are limited by time.

With regard to the grid split the proposed split of Pro and Clubman has been well received, however, the need for a heavyweight class needs to be carefully considered as with c25 prokarts at the last couple of meetings it may fragment the class too much - if grids allow (suggest 8) then fine otherwise the heavys simply race with the Clubman drivers. Again with 20-25karts I assume we simply race as one grid and leave the software to sort out the points.

Points: - not raised this before, however, (and this is my view) I think the double points for the final is a little to generous. I don't disagree that the final should carry a little more weighting but how about something like 5 more points as a start (i.e. 30 for a win, 25-2nd) rather than 50 as current.

Views anyone? Happy to discuss here or on Sunday morning. I certainly think Ian is interested in running a championship for us in a format that works for our mutual benefit. We are recognised as customers which is unusual for a kart circuit operator.

See you Sunday (in the sun).

Graeme
