I'll quote Harold Wilson:

"Facts, I can only give you the FACTS! I can't give you the inetellect to UNDERSTAND them!"

It's nice to have the TWO with THE most limited intellects together here!

Singers:

Look, thinking isn't your strong suit or else you would NEVER have suggested that stuff from a CHILDRENS NON-FICTION BOOK ('His Dark Materials Trilogy', Phillip Pulman) could be quoted as FACT in this discussion. Nor would you have been QUITE so mindless as to list the 'fact' that 'we are moving nearer to anothrer star' as ANOTHER reason for global warming! God KNOWS how we are supposed to complex get stuff through to you!

Tee hee; go on, do me a FAVOUR and explain EXACTLY why you included the LATTER one in the discussion! You have been the topic of discussion at certain dinner parties and I'd like some more anecdotes, if you would be so kind!

RoadRat:

The man who moved to France to get AWAY from Nuclear power! That's just TOO funny!

*********

I used to believe (indeed, I was TAUGHT) that if you explained things in simple ways, even the STUPID would comprehend it! I'll have one LAST attempt to explain why 'Global Warming' PREDICTS greater RANGES of temperatures and weather conditions!

However, let me FIRST explain the rush to CHANGE the name from 'Global Warming' to 'Climate Change' ...... it was done for YOU TWO and OTHER people who are also...... err..... 'easily confused'!

The REASON was that the term 'Global Warming' lead the THICK to think that it meant the 'summers and winters would be warmer' and OTHER such TRIPE! I am NOT a believer in changing the name JUST so the STUPID can understand it: I will CONTINUE to call it 'Global Warming'. If something as simple as a NAME confuses such people, what H*O*P*E is there that they will comprehend the concepts BEHIND the name! It's like people who think that name Ferrari implies the car are made by a BLACKSMITH or that Michael Schumacher makes SHOES!

So.......

Just think about something simple, like a KITE! In mild winds, it rises smoothly to a certain height. Now, you MIGHT think that it would just go HIGHER in a stronger wind: does it and is that ALL that it does? What ACTUALLY happens is that it may START by going higher and, indeed may attain a higher MAXIUMUM and even a higher AVERAGE but, viewed over a SHORT period, it leaps up and DOWN! Yes..... it DOES go higher...... and sometimes LOWER on occasions but, on average it goes HIGHER! Now, taking a simplistic view, you COULD suggest by watching the momernts that the kite goes LOWER (than average) that really, the wind speed HAS NOT increased! That is EXACTLY what YOU TWO are doing with regard to the INCREASE in 'CHAOS' caused by adding mor energry to a 'system'!

If THAT's to complicated, think about JUST the wind! On calm days, the wind tends to be fairly steady. Yes: it WILL gust but usually, the gusts will be VERY close to the average speed of the wind! BUT..... on a WINDY day, then the SIZE of the gusts (i.e., the 'distance' between peaks and the troughs) will be GREATER! It can get SO severe on windy days that there are moments when the wind (locally) stops ALL TOGETHER. At THOSE moments, the wind speed may be EVEN SLOWER (locally) than it is on a CALM day!

Now....... using YOUR 'logic' (tee hee!) ..... are we to say when we measure such 'lulls' in the wind that it really ISN'T a windy day AT ALL? Because that is E*X*A*C*T*L*Y what Y*O*U are suggesting about TEMPERATURE ranges in Global Warming!

Both of those effects are caused by the SAME sort of CAUSE! If you INCREASE the energy in those sorts of systems (i.e., winds) you will get (what YOU would think of) as a more CHAOTIC 'pattern'.

Now, those two items do NOT 'prove' the weather WILL get more 'chaotic' as the average temp INCREASE but they show you some SIMILAR examples of the EFFECTS!

The fact that YOU don't expect more 'chaotic' 'weather' in a 'warmer climate' does NOT mean that other people DIDN'T expect and PREDICT it!

What we ACTUALLY see from this is YOUR INABILITIES to GRASP such 'complex' (tee hee!) concepts! Damn it, these things are SO simple that even IDIOTS like Al Gore and even GEORGE BUSH have EVENTUALLY grasped the idea!

But......, I'll make a prediction: Singers won't comprehend it and RoadRat will suggest that, even though he has never read ANYTHING on the subject, that we can't trust ANYTHING we have been told!

I have thus wasted my time trying to explain it to you....... what a change THAT is!
