Guys
I’m quite proficient at networks & wireless networks
I think you’re a bit wide of the mark here, you could set up a wireless network at every track in the country. But the costs involved won’t be small, you need industrial strength access points to cover a whole track, they retail at around £800-1000 each (2 would cover most tracks), then you need a wireless switch & cameras set up at various locations on the track, these in turn would need power (yes you can get battery packs but they only last around 3-4 hours) then you would need a pc to record the races.
The races could be streamed live over the internet if required; it’s all easy to set up
(I don’t think a mobile solution would work, how many tracks have meetings on the 1st week of the month for example, so how many mobile systems and people would you need)
If there was an incident how would it be dealt with, would the race be stopped and restarted
How much time would be needed to review footage etc.. Most race meetings are run on a tight schedule so we get the required heats and finals, so would the tracks want the expense and hassle of having a camera system fitted.
