its not just HGV's that are resticted in speedby law. White van man is also restricted 50mph on a single carageway 60mph on a dual carageway and only 70mph on a motorway.
to have all these different speed limits from the everyday car is just plain crazy. modern lorrys vand and cars have very capable brakes compared the when these limits were imposed.it is about time all speed limits were reviewed and adjusted to take into acount modern vehcle constructions as well as the need for safety on urban roads with pedestrians maybe some can be set uniform up and others need to come down
