It was the ride height button that made the biggest difference. Anybody remember the last two seasons where Vettel was pretty much on the same pace as the Maclaren's and Ferrari's in Q1 and Q2 only to pull a lap out of know where to get pole in Q3 which was often around at least half a second faster than anyone else? Funny how that's now disappeared at the same time as the ride height button.

For those not in the know it was a button that adjusted the ride height in the car. They have a wooden plank underneath the car so the cars can't run to low and the wooden plank is measured at the end of the race for wear. Red Bull realised that they could run the car lower for one flying lap and then raise the car before going into parc ferme to allow the car to pass all legal checks on the plank of wood at the end of the race.

The benefit was that by starting at the front they had less tyre wear and were able to control the race.
