Best (nicest) car I ever owned. Made my brother's MGB GT look lame, tame and slow. Only about 135 BHP but was a true Grand Tourer. Would cruise for ever at 90 mph +. Handling was superb. Can't remember a single 'butt clenching' moment However.... It was an Alfa, so after being rear ended at a junction while stationary, was rebuilt but a rust trap. Scrap after 7 short years of life. Then got an Alfasud 4-door (children)in 1978/79. Had it Ziebarted, the then best antirust system available. Sold it in 1981 for a Merc 123 estate. The Alfa started to show rust hole by 4 years old. You just don't see Alfasuds these days. Built in Naples, well built in the broadest meaning of the world build. Like all Alfas, handled superbly, good engine, scap steel. I gather the latest Alfas don't rust any more, but have diabolical electrics. The clip is of a 2000 GTV, but it shows the lines well and the for die for exhaust/inlet roar. Only bettered by an Escort BDA rally car at full chat.
