So in Iran they had democratic elections and they voted in what now amounts to a dictator who doesn't believe in democracy or elections. Much the same happened in Palistine. You can't fight these people and defend the relatively high standards of freedom we enjoy with bleeding heart liberalism. They don't share the same beliefs as we do and it is only the tough, pragmatic but basically good forces, working behind the scenes, that stop us being over run by the cultures and peoples that do not respect our beliefs.

Fact is democracy, human rights, freedom of speech, right to a fair trial etc. etc. should only apply to those who are prepared to overtly accept such beliefs themselves. Reject these beliefs and you're fair game for the hit squad. IMHO.
