Thankyou for your reasoned response; albeit one I disagree with.
I can well understand the victims desire to see him dead. Even in more simple cases such as murder, I could well understand the victims family seeking revenge. However, revenge and state sanctioned murder have no place in a society which wishes to call itself civilised.
The Arab nations cut off the hands of thieves and we call this barbaric. Surely the taking of someone's life, no matter how contemptible that person is, is worse? Especially when said persons life was taken without one of the most basic rights that sets us apart from all those other countries; the right to trial.
You see, this isn't about defending Bin Laden. I couldn't care less that he's dead and can accept the desire to see him dead. This is about defending us and what we supposedly believe in. We should hold ourselves to a higher standard.
