Please explain. You yourself apply the same logic below. Pick a random factor, change it in such a way that the nurse would not have died and therefore claim that speed was not the cause of the accident.

And there it is. Pick a random factor, change it such that the nurse would not have died and claim that speed was not the cause of the accident.

It's quite simple. The nurse was on that road in that car. The police officer was on that road in that car. At that given moment in time the only influence the nurse had on the situation was the control of her vehicle. What should she have done differently? The only influence the police officer had on the situation was the control of his vehicle. What should he have done differently? Incidently, those are two questions I would like answers to (as is common courtesy in a debate), they are not rhetorical.

It makes not the slightest difference whether she was a nurse, cleaner, teacher, serial killer or generally degenerate. Ian referred to her as a nurse and I continued. Having names for subjects in a sentence, especially when presenting an argument, can be useful in identifying said subjects later on. It's one of the central tenets of communication. I notice you didn't mention the occupation of the police officer?
