No I'm not comparing Nuclear power to the old fashioned fossil fuels I'm comparing it to the greener alternatives that are already available and don't have any dirty waste through their use.

I can accept that fossil fuels were used when we were in our learning phase of generating energy but it's gone on for far too long now and jumping to nuclear power in my view is the lazy gutless option that puts an unnecessary added risk to human kind. Japan thought theirs were earthquake safe and look what’s happening. What would happen if an asteroid hit the earth? If the asteroid didn't kill us then the radiation from hundreds of failing reactors could cause added problems.

The way I look at it is why take the risk? This little rocky planet is too fragile to be playing Russian roulette with things like Nuclear power especially when there are green alternatives.
