that time of year that we have frosts. The fences on the farm get assaulted by cars 1st frost. Bad year last winter for assaults.
Almost without exception these assaults are by GTI's and BMW's, and the occasional Trany type. Never by 1100L's. It seems the ability to accelerate to crash velocity that is the key factor.
The 850 Mini when it came out in 1963? had 28 BHP and a maximum speed of 68 mph. My sons cut there teeth on the 1100L Mk1 Fiesta (1993), which could top 100 mph and had performance way ahead of 1500cc cars of the 1960's (Cortina)and early 70's. Virtually any car from the late 90's onwards are pocket rockets compared to the 'classic' cars.
The speeding up is easy, the stoping is not. Just like going into the 1st hairpin at PFI.....
