Norton Ghost is the best commercial grade product for home use.

Clonezilla is what I use as it supports Windows, Mac and Linux filesystems as well as any other file system via sector copying.

There are other products, both free and paid, but I haven't used them. There's also the built in Windows Disk Imaging tool but I've never used that either.

Another product that you should have if you pre-install Windows OS's for clients is nLite/vLite. This allows you to create a slipstreamed (all service packs, hotfixes and drivers etc), unattended (all Windows options preconfigured, activated etc) Windows CD. It'll also allow you, depending on options, to shrink the Windows install to a 256MB USB key (and install from it also).

The final thing you should have is a Linux Live CD with NTFS filesystem support. This way, when Windows decides to corrupt it's registry (most often caused by impatient users), it's a work of minutes to copy the backup across.
