The easiest thing to do is open a new web page and log directly into Paypal.

I always do it if I get an email I'm not sure about I wont click the links I'll open a new page and log directly into the site.

I had an email the other day confirming a hotel booking and thought it smelt of something really bad but I checked the links and they all seemed ok. So I logged into the website by opening a new window, and it turns out it was real, someone with the same name as me entered their email address slightly wrong whoops lol
