I agree with much of what you say, as I say, I think Jorge is an extreme talent and, a marketable one, as you correctly point out, `the future`
Rossi on the other hand, has it all. The best out and out racer I have ever seen and a media dream, the whole package.
A few years ago, when he was having his battles with Max, the crowds were with Rossi, he was the man of the people, one of them, whereas Max enjoyed mixing with the rich and famous and had a reputation for being moody and aloof with fans and the media alike.........although whenever I saw him at charity signing days at Donington, I never found him like that at all.
A few years ago, I would have said that Rossi and Ducati would have been a match made in heaven, I`m not totally sure whether that would now be the case, or indeed if he will join Ducati, I still think it has some way to run yet.
One thing is for sure though, had it not been for Rossi`s injury it would have been a fascinating championship, and it will be next year, injuries permitting. Jorge might be the King in waiting, but the present King isn`t quite ready to abdicate just yet.
