Jake and DC portray a 'corporate' political correctness and sterility that's almost the same as something from a team press pack. When they lean away from that come across as stuck up and smarmy. They're a pair of 'straight men' who really look lost when EJ isn't around.
EJ is the most articulate in terms of his analysis, composure or expression and that can be very annoying I agree, but he does give a flying feck and will ask the questions the other two are terrified to. Christian Horner needed a proper grilling yesterday after this weekend's schmozzle within the team - something they tried to paper over - and if EJ didn't ask him, we wouldn't have had it.
I've no problem about the Beeb dispensing with EJ next year... but they will need to get the motorsport equivalent of Paxman in order to balance the other two or the links will be unwatchable.
