I would agree with the above. Luckily we're not in that position of having to juggle depleted resources, plan for further cuts all while providing a service to all of the community. As it turns out, the information was indeed accurate on this individual. With the benefit of hindsight, we would have thrown all necessary resourses at stopping this individual. The problem is, how many other prisoners got out that day, all across the country, vowing revenge on those they blamed for putting them there. How many of those are worse criminals than Mr Moat, with ready access to firearms from criminal associates? He had been in prison for a relatively short time for an assault. Where do we grade this level of threat compared to others? Its very easy to sit back and say 'no no you're doing that all wrong, do it this way'. So how would you stop people speeding, killing and maiming many thousands every year? 'You've been a very naughty boy sonny, now get off before you get a clip round the ear'?
