Mine's a 2008 010B... which has been designed to work with the Vega SLs that we use in Rotax Max in this country. Because of this it, and its successor the 2009 010B, are supposed to be better for the Max classes than the Charlotte or the Daytona. This is what I've been told. I've never driven the Charlotte or the Daytona so I could really give an objective comment. Note also that the 2009 010B has completely different front end geometry to mine and that's also supposed to be better.
If I was buying a brand new kart today I'd probably buy a new 010B series Gillard for three reasons :
o I prefer British karts to Italian ones. I've always been more impressed with their engineering and Gillard and Wright are among the best.
o Gillard parts are generally cheaper than comparable Italian marques.
o The last few Gillards I've owned have been fantastic to drive - easy to set up, responsive to changes and on the button in terms of times.
Note, these are my opinions which are obviously quite subjective. All I can say, for what its worth, is that I've no vested interest in giving them.
