Because Hamilton screwed his tyres in the first stint, they kindly gave him another set and he screwed them too. Button pounded round doing better times then everyone else on the older tyres and most of the guys on new and nursed his tyres at the same time. Mclaren brought hamilton in because he can't look after tyres, he told them they were dead, they brought him in. Simples.
