Hurst didn`t cheat on either occasion did he?
Henry certainly did. I`m not blaming the referee for not having seen it, I actually thought the ref was excellent in general on the night (although the linesman should have seen it).
In my eyes, as a decent, fair and reasonable football supporter, Henry has, over the years, generally speaking, been a kind of `self styled` model of all that is good in the game, so, for him to do what he did then run off behind the goal celebrating, disappointed me, I thought him better than that, and despite what you say about thick football fans, I know that many French supporters feel EXACTLY the same.
It isn`t unknown for players to `correct` a wrong, Paulo DiCanio at Everton catching a cross rather than simply heading into an empty net, because the keeper was lying injured.......Robbie Fowler going down at Highbury in the box, leaping up and immediately telling the referee it wasn`t a penalty, he had simply slipped........more recently Andrei Arshavin at Pompey telling the referee after he had awarded him a spot kick, that it was a good tackle and nothing more than a corner kick.
Henry could have done the same, but he didn`t, had he done so and the ref had STILL given the goal, that would have been a different matter.
Where on EARTH the Hurst goals, or particularly the case of the `did it cross the line` one come into this, I really have no idea
