Glad you enjoyed the book Chris... thought you would. Its very easy to feel frustrated at Tommy for completely squandering his talent... a talent most people believe would have taken him a long way in Formula One. However it took a certain character to drag himself out of that shlthole in Dundalk, somebody who could blag for Ireland and would talk the hind legs of a donkey... in fact he's still the same today... Those exact characteristics were incompatible with the demure corporate cr4p that's so prevalant in F1 and was even back then.

Speaking of Irish talent... a compatriot of Tommy around the same time was Derek Daly. Here's a video of his Formula One debut in a Hesketh. Just take a look at this !
