I did the first year of BEng Motorsports Engineering at Brookes last year but moved to BSc Motorsports Technology this year only because I missed out on alot A Level maths when I was in sixth-form (I did a BTEC course) so I struggled with the maths module on the BEng which assumes you've done an A Level in it.
The Technology course only has applied maths on it (Thermodynamics, Engineering Mehanics etc) instead of pure maths modules which Engineering has. The exception being the Basic Maths module in first year of Tech but it's only mandatory if you haven't done A Level maths.
Practicals, on Engineering you'll do 10 days worth of lab sessions in your first year, 6 in Technology.
Both courses; you'll do 8 modules in first year, which equates to 10 hours worth of lectures per week (some are double modules, hence some have more than a 1 hour lecture each week).
Other things to consider; our karting team are the reigning BUKC champions so you'll be going to a uni with some very good karters in it lol.
Hope that helps.
