“If not, where do you manufacture your figures from?" Why you are directly this at me as well? seeing as the figures I used are direct quotes from yours and Dan's postings....but anyway.
"Do I think that in 87% of fatal accidents and 95% of all casualty accidents no one was speeding?" Well, to be honest I haven't got a clue either way, I CAN however apply simple logic. What you're implying is that 13% (100-87=13) of fatalities are caused by speed! That’s over 1 in 10! And that would be only the ones the authorities can prove were over the speed limit from skid marks etc, so the true figure may well be higher than that. If you don't think 1 death in 10 is significant then what kind of cold-blooded animal are you?
So, if I use the figures you are using, (which I have no idea the validity of) 1 death in 10 could be saved if you stopped speeding!
Personally, I think '1 death in 10' is worth leaving 10minutes earlier for, clearly you don't. Maybe if you actually knew that person you might think a little differently! Who knows, it may happen tomorrow...and it could be you who kills them.
