The issue isn't how much M.P.'s get paid it is their sense of entitlement to and lack of decency with regard to our money.
Many M.P.'s are chalking up £150k in expenses (which they often try and keep in the family) before we even move onto these allowances.
It's quite clear to me that some of them feel they should never be expected to dip into their own "earnings" for anything at all and go out of their way to milk a system (at our expense) which they:
a) decide they rules for themselves and then re-write them for their own benefit as often as necessary b) "police" themselves c) reject outside scrutiny d) still shamelessly push/bend break the already favourable rules with little fear of any censure when caught
The M.P.'s culture is definitely one of snouts in the trough (or is it hyenas over a kill).
We shouldn't really be surprised though given how lax they are with our money in the first place, throwing billions at pet projects and hopeless policies that are often doomed from the start.
