I find it somewhat hypocritical to alter your (the collective you, not you specifically MarkW) views of someone based on their current state of health (or death). In fact, I fail to see how her current ill health is newsworthy at all, in the same way that the public outpouring over the death of Diana was totally disrespectful to those closest to her. Whilst it is possible to sympathise with her (and her family's) personal plight, I feel no remorse at all.

Personally, I don't believe in role models. Children should be taught critical thinking, the value of intelligence and knowledge, the value of acquiring new skills, and the value of being the best you can be as well as the understanding that people, no matter how successful, are still people, with all the foibles that go along with it. Jade represents none of these values.
