I've never quite understood why Rosberg gets so much sh*t. His past two teammates have both been absolute racing legends and he's been no push over for either of them. When Hamilton joined Mercedes, he had a reputation as the fast driver on the grid, over a single qualifying lap. That first season, Rosberg out qualified him.
Yes, in absolute wheel to wheel racing terms, Hamilton has had the edge but Rosberg has been a better "sportsman" when things have gone against him. No talk of conspiracy or the team wanting a certain outcome.
Everyone points to Hamilton's engine failure, saying without it he'd have won by x points but you can't say that because if he had won that race, Rosberg would obviously approached the remaining races differently and wouldn't have played safe, just like when his team said "you need to get past Max"
Anyway he won the championship, Hamilton had some bad look but that's racing. Rosberg might not be an all time great but equally he's at least as good as many past winners and has chosen to go out at the height of his achievements...fair play!
