having done lots of both (100cc karts and ff1600) i have to point out that "budget" car racing will lack the performance dynamic of a two stroke kart; you have to spend a LOT to get that; i gave up cars because ff1600 was starting to feel frustratingly slow and boring and i couldnt afford anything quicker. however, getting back to an earlier quote in this thread, there IS camaraderie that is nowhere to be seen at a kart track now, a paddock full of people hiding in awnings. in club car racing, i found a camaraderie i NEVER found in karts. even in the 70's. there,s also a bar where people can have a post race pint and socialise. karting fraternity has a two hour pack up taking down the ridiculous awnings
