The Isle of man TT is not part of any championship and 99.9% of all the riders are privately funded. No one is forcing the riders to take part in the event.
In the case of the old Nurburgring and old spa it was actually the drivers themselves that raised concerns about the tracks safety which resulted in the boycotting of both races for one year. These were part of the World Championship, so you had to take part as you were contracted to a team.
It was the team owners and track owners who had a blatant disregard for the safety of the F1 drivers.
As all the riders at the TT/North West 200/Ulster GP are effectively privateers who are we to tell them that the sport they love is banned.
Over the past 3 months, over 8 fisherman have lost their lives around the coast of Ireland! Is it time to ban the fish supper?
