I thought that was implicit in what I wrote: it wasn't there by mistake.
I just wish that the 'voters' were as honest with themselves: barely 1 percent are! The most common thing I hear from voters is covered by the example:-
'There is a principle that this house should not be built as it sets tone for more development'
... whereas, what the REALLY mean is:-
'cut the cr*p, if this new house gets built it will reduce the value of MY house, and T*H*A*T must N*O*T be allowed'
When we get honest, educated, thinking, principled voters, we'll get honest, educated, thinking, principled politicians. And not until!
Remember, if you don't LIKE 'us' politicians, you have the power in your OWN HANDS. All you need to do is to STAND FOR ELECTION! Conveniently (for me), 99.99% of our population are too damned lazy, workshy, indolent and fearful to do so! All the excuses that 99.99% of you will make for NOT standing apply to ALL of us 'politicians', we just decided that the extra work was worthwhile and we weren't as workshy!
Prove me wrong: STAND for election because YOU (each of you) would be FABULOUS politicians and we'd see you all as shining beacons of decency.... or we'd see you like the rest of us.... damned politicians!
