Ian your continuing mistake is to think that you are some sort of Mother Teresa to road racers. You seem to think you are above them and have a duty to protect them. You also seem to think that they are there purely to entertain people and are not intelligent enough to think for themselves.
I know someone that has competed at the TT and British Superbikes, and I can categorically tell you that if you H&S barrys managed to ban the TT, he would make damn sure to replace the thrill of the TT with some other hair raising and life threatening activity.
The competitors know the risks, they are happy to compete regardless, to challenge themselves and push themselves further than any of us lot will push ourselves in our lives, and if you'd seen the TT film from last year you'd realise that even the riders familys know and accept the risks!
So why on earth do you think you have some sort of right to dictate what risks they can or cant take with their own lives!?
Whilst they are happy to compete and provide us with an awesome spectacle, I will continue to watch and be thankful that there are people out there who are mad enough to push themselves further than I'd ever dare.
Over 100 deaths in the past 5 years to people trying to climb the mountain K2, and climbing isn't and shouldn't be banned! And don't even get me started on road deaths, by your logic we should ban driving of any kind!
