How about if I use your (or Guy Martin's) words with a subtle change:-
"The reason I do the Gladiatorial 'to-the-death' combat is because if you get it wrong, it'll kill you. If you think it's too dangerous then go home and cut your grass and leave us to it"
or...
'The reason I do the Big Game Hunting is because if you get it wrong, it'll kill you. If you think it's too dangerous then go home and cut your grass and leave us to it'
.... or....
'The reason I do Russian Roulette is because if you get it wrong, it'll kill you. If you think it's too dangerous then go home and cut your grass and leave us to it'
Would you STILL defend a man who uses those words, instead?
Now ask yourself why Russian Roulette at the IOM IS acceptable but in Vietnam/Cambodia, it is UNacceptable.
Have no doubt, the IOM TT is TRULY just Russian Roulette on 2 wheels.... with a 100+ chambered gun rather than just 6!
A man who will claim he does something BECAUSE it can kill him has SERIOUS problems and seems to have doubts about his own courage that he needs to keep testing to PROVE something to himself. That sort of person needs HELP, not praise!
Brave people do something DESPITE the risks not BECAUSE of the risks!
