Ian, you are up all hours. I'm sure I've seen that your wife is some eminent neurology professor or such like, doesn't she nag you to get some sleep? at your age your brain needs all the beauty sleep it can get! I know I'm posting this in the middle of the night but I'm a bit younger than you and you keep telling me my brain's already knackered so nah nah nah.

Now, in all seriousness, I slowly reached the conclusion that if I didn't have a Lotus I wouldn't attract Lotus bores and do you know, I was right.I no longer own a Boxster either but at no point during ownership did I ever get approached by some Porsche geek intent on boring me to death....

Maybe I'm more of a lotus man than you think, my mum had a Europa in the 70's: an awful Plum/purple coloured k plate, my favourite toy car was a JPS livered 72 and,unlike you,I would never dream of setting foot in a 911,let alone drive one.I've hated them since childhood, A prejudice I hope to keep until the day I die.

As for the Caymen S the good burghers of Stuttgart have let me loose in them in the hope of selling me one and yeah they're alright but are they really such a huge step ahead of their droptop sister? I'm not convinced, I've not tried the R so can't comment on that,besides, they look far too much like their ugly older brother.

You know that whenever you bang on about how great the Elise is I always chirp up with something along the lines of yeah but the Boxster's better to live with....
and it's always guaranteed to get you to bite...

I did notice you singing the praise of Renaultsport Clio at some point, now that's a car we can agree on, for that type of car they are phenomenal
