The only thing with giving penalties for failing to make a successful pass is that given a few races and everyone will be moaning that its boring. He did the move he failed and lost his wing. Unless its a regular driver, which I guess in Lewis's case it is, I'd much prefer a warning rather than a straight drive through penalty.

Ultimately Massa knew he was there and a bit like The Cobbler at his prime and Senna the other driver knows in most cases its up to them if they have the accident or not because Schummi, Senna and Lewis would be coming through anyway. For those of you that watch the Moto GP, Simmoncelli, the one with sideshow Bob haircut, is a real loon and the other riders tend to stay out of his way.
