Using my Police vs Nurse example on one side..... let's try another example on the other side and compare them.

Let's make the other example where a burglar carries a gun and chooses to shoot the 'home owner' (called: Jane) in the head so that there will be no witnesses left alive.

I suspect that most of us would say that it was the pulling of the trigger that killed Jane and that was completely in control of the burglar. But.... if Jane had eaten 1 more slice of toast in the morning, she might have missed the train and been forced to stay late at work which would have meant that she would NOT have been home when the burglar arrived. It could be argued that the missing extra slice of toast was a 'FACTOR' in Jane's death.

Obviously, there are an (almost) unlimited number of OTHER 'factors' which might have had an effect. For all we know, an ant in Australia might have short-circuited a telephone connection in 1914 which delayed the call to tell a young Aussie soldier he was needed at Gallipoli and he thus missed the slaughter.... and it was his great-great-grandson that was the burglar. Without that ant, the burglar would not have been born and thus, the ANT is a 'factor' in the death.... if we accept Booney's 'logic'....

Similarly, had the Nurse eaten an extra slice of toast, she would have arrived later at the traffic lights and thus the Policeman would have killed someone else.... so..... you COULD say the Nurse's extra slice of toast was ALSO a 'FACTOR' in her death. Booney has, SPECTACULARLY already claimed this already.....by extension.

Now..... would a SINGLE ONE of you try to claim that Jane was NOT killed by the burglar pulling the trigger? Would ANY of you argue that the possible existence of Toast and Ants had any MATERIAL relevance on the RESPONSIBILITY for the death of Jane which would, in the most MICROSCOPIC way, alter your views of whether the Burglar WAS 'guilty' of causing Jane's death.

Do remember that it was NOT the trigger which killed Jane... nor even the Bullet, nor the gun, nor the burglary, nor even the BURGLAR...... not even the loss of blood..... but the fact that her heart stopped..... which killed Jane......

So.... would a SINGLE ONE OF YOU alter your views on the GUILT and 'SOLE responsibility' of the burglar for Jane's death knowing what you now know about the toast and the ant....? Please answer the EXACT question..... not a question you would have LIKED me to ask......?

If you happily state that you DO feel the Toast and/or the Ant alter the burglar's responsibility.... then we can start to think about ALL the other factors in the Nurse's death..... however..... if you don't.........

I don't expect an answer to this one simply because NOBODY is that CRETINOUS to feel the ant needs to be considered in this matter of Jane's death.....

What we consider in ALL these matters is the factors which can be assigned to someone DOING WRONG. Had the nurse done anything WRONG which lead to her death, or if the Road workers had done something WRONG which lead to the death, then the RESPONSIBILITY for the death would move, fractionally, from the policeman to the other parties...... In this case, the ONLY person doing 'WRONG' was the Policeman and the THING he was doing WRONG was ..... excess SPEED and SPEEDING!

Q.E.D. This is not exactly ROCKET SCIENCE.

I expect this to be the END of the fatuous claims that 'speed DOESN'T kill'..... unless you will also state that:-

'burglars firing guns into the heads of victims..... don't kill'
