I think I am with Frak on this one. In the free, democratic, capitalist society that we enjoy surely it is down to the individual what they choose to drive irrespective of drive configuration, fuel type or consumption. If those that are affluent and/or have higher disposable income choose to have a bigger house or car that is down to them. There will also be others with the same affluence that choose for their own perceive consciences to live in eco-friendly abodes and ride a bike. I think it is called freedom of choice.

I would imagine that the vast majority of Ferrari drives have as much clue as driving there performance vehicle in performance conditions as 4X4 drivers can cope with anything off-road (never mind inclement). I don't see the difference. 4X4 is today's fashion vehicle for the school run, previoulsy it was People Carriers - perhaps Honda's hydrogen car will be next or perhaps the bus or walking.

For the avoidance of any doubt I don't have one. Don't think I need one either but I have considered a 4X4 over the years and CHOSEN not to buy but not because it was a 4X4.
