Yes. We have a separate DVD/HDD recorder linked to the Sky Box. You don't get the programme list, you need to set to record manually with the channel set to what ever input you have set the sky box to.

Not sure it would work with an HD channel.

Our DVD/HDD box also has a freeview tuner so we can record something on freeview whilst watching sky or anything else.
