As I understand it from the commentary on the TV this class is designed to be as quick as the present 125's, which is different to the 250cc 2 stroke replacement formula Moto2, which despite 600cc four strokes is slower than the formula it replaced, although a lot more spectacular to watch. They do need to limit grid numbers a bit more though, its been over 40 bikes on track for most of this season. Tomizawas death on sunday will inevitably bring calls for safety, and grid numbers is an easy target.
